Questions about web applications
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on the scope. A focused first version can be ready in a matter of weeks, and larger platforms take several months. You get a timeline with your written estimate.
Do we own the code?
Yes. You own the code, the repository and the hosting accounts from day one, and everything is documented so any competent team could pick it up.
Can you work with our existing systems?
Usually, yes. Integrating and modernising existing systems is a large part of what we do, from APIs and data imports to connecting finance, CRM and HR tools.
What is the difference between a website and a web application?
A website mainly shares information. A web application lets people do things: sign in, fill in forms, book, pay, search records or manage work. It runs in a web browser, so nobody needs to install anything.
Which technologies do you use for web applications?
Mostly Laravel (PHP) and ASP.NET Core (C#), with MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server databases. We choose well-supported, widely used tools so other developers can maintain your system in future.
When is custom web development better than an off-the-shelf product?
When your process is what makes you different, when you pay for many licences but use a fraction of the features, or when staff spend hours working around a product. If a standard product fits well, we will tell you to buy it.
Is custom web development expensive to maintain?
It does not have to be. We use mainstream frameworks, write automated tests and keep dependencies up to date, which keeps running costs predictable. You get a written support quote before launch.
